The First May 2011 Post is Mine! Also, I LOVE HUNGER GAMES!

May 4th, 2011 · No Comments

Yeah, it is.

Okay. I take back everything non-encouraging comment I said to Allie about the Hunger Games or her obsession with them. She has every right to be.

They are AWESOME!  I read the whole series in three days- literally a book a day. I cried at some parts, but I’m not telling where. I accidentally spoiled some of it for Seth, but he can’t read them for another three years or so. I am now obsessed with the Hunger Games and I’m in love with Peeta. Just like Allie was. Only she got to get a Mockingjay shirt. I’d get a Hunger Games T-shirt but they’re mostly in juniors sizes, and I’m not sure I’d even fit in a juniors extra small.

Well, time to go.

Goodbye.

Hi, I am Bored

April 22nd, 2011 · No Comments

Well, I am. Also I fixed up Allie’s spelling and grammatical errors on her most recent post. (You know, the one where she demonstrates how obsessed she is with Peeta and the Hunger Games.) She’s so obsessed with the Hunger Games that it’s just scary.

In science on Wednesday we built communities with little Box City boxes. We used green papers and drew in roads, trees, scenery, bodies of water, recreational areas- lots of little things. Then, someone had to take the papers home. No one in my group wanted it so I took it home for Caleb, drawing in the houses and things where the boxes had been. I also added a lot of Stuff, like a church, dentist, McDonalds, ice cream store, library, huge house, and Wal-Mart- just to name a few. I taped the two sheets together and told him it was a new toy. He loves to drive his cars around on it (although he made Mater die, come back to life, and have to use a wheelchair forever) and in fact he’s playing with it right now.

That’s all. I am about to go recite the Constitution. We’re filming it, so maybe a video will find its way here soon. Maybe.

Bye.

Team Peeta. Forever.

April 22nd, 2011 · No Comments

This is Allie (for once).

I just felt the need to post something with this title. I am so obsessed and I am happy about it. Look, at least it’s not Twilight or Justin Bieber or something. I mean, they are both nice and all that, but still. Better a book.

In case you don’t know who Peeta is, he is the most awesome guy ever from the most awesome book ever. In other words, the hot guy from the Hunger Games. (Not everyone likes this definition- some like Gale. I like him, I just don’t think he is quite Peeta.)

We had to write a sonnet about something we love. Some people chose Justin Bieber and stuff, but I wrote it about Peeta. At least he’s not a real life guy, right?

I will post it once my teacher gives it back in a couple of days.

Other stuff is coming, but I need to post on the other computer. I WILL post again today.

Team Peeta!

Okay then.

February 27th, 2011 · No Comments

Well, I thought it was about time I posted an update on my life and now seems as good a time as any.(This is Allie)

Caleb’s new favorite movie is Despicable Me, and he goes around quoting it constantly. I caught him talking on a play cell phone, repeating an entire conversation Gru has (the one about cookie robots, where he hangs up in frustration, you know?) and  I actually got him to do it on video.

School is not exactly fun. We are doing a project where we basically choose a “persona” with certain aspects of colonial life to research, then develop that character in a historical fiction piece. We finish our research and then my teacher interrupts the flow by making us do a totally unrelated essay contest. On the third day of writing for this contest (it was a friday), about halfway through the class, she tells us the rough draft of the colonial paper is due monday. I had been told this was coming by my friend who had had the class earlier, but most of us had no warning.  So I had a ton of homework. I had to play in a concert Friday, so I couldn’t do homework then, and I don’t do homework on Sunday. So my entire Saturday was spent writing it. Ugh. I also had to type up the essay contest paper and ended up exceeding the word limit by 200. UGH.

I got new glasses too, but I am more blind than Camryn and so my glasses have not come in yet. I am really worried, because I have no idea what they will look like on me. Without my real glasses on, I have to be about two inches away from the mirror and by then its hard to tell what anything looks like on you. So I hope I picked well.

Well,  I don’t have much left to say. If I think of something, I will post.

Bye!

Allie

Here I am bored and wearing a necklace rachel made me.(she’s really sweet!!!)

I did not know I could do this with my eyebrows.

I Got New Glasses

February 27th, 2011 · No Comments

I like my new glasses

So I posted a picture of them. They are the first pair we found that fit. Of course, they were at Wal-Mart, ten minutes away, and we didn’t go there until AFTER we had searched Costco (over an hour away) and Sam’s Club (about half an hour away)  for a pair that wasn’t too big. We picked them up yesterday. I hadn’t realized I was seeing things so blurry.

So anyway, I am indeed liking them. Can’t wait to wear them to school….

Hmm, I think I will go ask Mom if I can make some fruit punch. I have a feeling she will say yes.

Goodbye.

Hi. It’s Nice and Warm Here, but not in Other Places

February 18th, 2011 · No Comments

(an extremely quick post, posted by Camryn)

If you are reading this and you are in Santa Rosa then you should know that it is only forty-five degrees where you are and sixty-three degrees where I am. Not to make you mad or anything, but it sure feels good here. I put on flip-flops and a t-shirt and rolled up my pants till they were almost shorts. And I did my homework outside with a nice warm breeze at my face.  And then when I was done I curled up on a blanket in a patch of warm sunlight in my room. The only bad thing is that it’s going to drop twenty-three degrees tomorrow and stay in the forties and very low fifties for a long time.

Goodbye.

(I said it would be quick!)

Quick Post (I Think)

February 16th, 2011 · No Comments

(posted by Camryn)

So it is going to be OVER SIXTY DEGREES on Friday. Okay, so it’s only going to be sixty-one, but still. For central PA in the middle of February, sixty-one degrees is unbelievable!  I can’t wait. It’s a Friday, so I can play outside for hours if I want to. I just hope all the snow’s melted by then.  It’s been warm lately. Fine. Not exactly warm, but still, nearly fifty? Today when I got home I threw off my coat and gloves and started hugging the basketball hoop and exploring the muddy yard for the first time in a while. It’s brown and dry and gross grass, but hey, at least it’s showing.

And now I have Don’t Stop Believin’ stuck in my head. (Yes, I left the ‘g’ off on purpose.)

How I wish I were in CA. I’d have so much to post about. Even the daily little things like walking from Grandma and Grandpa’s house to Katherine’s house seem magical there. And the little things that aren’t daily are special too- like the giant bag of chips we had and the homemade Oreo ice cream on the porch. If only I were in CA I’d have SO much to post about that there wouldn’t be time to post because I’d be busy doing it. I love California. People who don’t are probably just crazy. Maybe.

And before I go, I have to say that today’s midday was AWESOME. Julia and I hung up signs again. But we’d had practice, so we could be even calmer and more dignified when we had to be. Well, Julia could. I wasn’t too good at it. I never will be. I don’t care.  We had lots of fun. We took up most of Lunch A and all Lunch B doing it. We got back to homeroom about two minutes before the bell rang. We had so much fun. I LOVE hanging up signs. I really do.

Okay, I am getting off now. I will leave you with some smiley faces. And maybe a frowny one, for no reason at all.

hello.

February 16th, 2011 · No Comments

Things have been rather busy, and consequently I have been posting a great deal less than Camryn. Just letting everyone know that I can post too.

Not too much exciting has happened.  Homework, instruments, and other such things have taken up plenty of time.

Just for the record, Camryn left her slippers under the heater DURING church. So not only has she also done it, it was for three entire hours (at least). The heater just wasn’t on, like when I did it.

Well, christmas was fun, and life returned to normal.

Ah, the Consequences of Living in Pennsylvania for Way Too Many Winters

February 15th, 2011 · No Comments

(posted by Camryn)

Do you want to know what the consequences are? It happens to be that your sense of hot versus cold is damaged. When it’s not even fifty degrees out you think it’s warm.

Seriously. I was outside today, it wasn’t even fifty degrees, and I had thrown off my coat and was ready to get out the sidewalk chalk and ride my bike. And the California branches of the Jones Clan, and especially the Arizona branch, would have been bundled in coats and scarves, hats and gloves, boots and socks and been about to walk out and get firewood. It’s sad. I can seriously call fifty degrees warm? Well, that’s what you get for moving northeast. But that wasn’t my decision. If it were up to me, we’d be living in Santa Rosa, near Grandma and Grandpa and the Larsons.  Most unfortunately, it is not up to me. So we’re not. But hey, we have decent summers and nice springs. Although the summers are a bit humid. Well, really humid, I guess.

So I have posted enough about weather. I just looked at the Mac (I’m posting on the PC) and Allie just looked up ‘hemidemisemiquaver’.  It’s a really funny-sounding word that’s another name for a sixty-fourth note.

Buckminsterfullerene

Sorry. Just another of the ‘top 10 unusually long and interesting words’ on M-W.

So this evening around four thirty I skillfully found all five pages of Don’t Stop Believing. Yes, all five. And I practiced over and over and didn’t want to get off. And all the repeats and endings are super confusing, but I got it anyway. It sounds pretty good.

The Activity Day boys came over. They decorated cookies. Since I’m still in Activity Days, until November, even though I’m not a girl boy I got to do it anyway. They were sugar cookies. They were GOOD! And I had fun.

Well, I can’t think of any more things to say.

I hope spring comes soon or I might go crazy:( Winter is unusually long (and COLD) this year. :/

Bye.
