Hey I am Posting Again

February 12th, 2011 · 1 Comment

Hi. It’s Camryn posting, by the way. If you don’t know, Katherine posted again. It may be short, but it’s great that she posted again.

So I was making dinner because I wanted to. It involved chopping green onions. I LOVE to chop green onions (I have no idea why) but they make me cry like onions do to everyone.  And today they were really strong onions. Four of them. I was down to the fine chopping and it got so bad I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I had to run away and grab a Kleenex and blot my eyes and stay there for a bit before I could go back. And I had to do that twice. The second time I used toilet paper (CLEAN) because we were out of Kleenex.

Also, for no apparent reason my right ankle, on the inside, has swelled to the size of a golf ball. It hurts. Maybe I play too much Cultural Hall Soccer with the unofficial random Cultural Hall Friday-Wednesday Night Soccer League. (CHFWNSL)

In other news, I am starting to learn how to play the first approximately 12 measures of Don’t Stop Believin’. As I have learned, it does not come from Wicked. And the only thing I know about Wicked is that it is a book and a musical. And anyway, we were listening to Don’t Stop Believin’ last night (Friday) and I heard the piano part and thought it was so cool. And in Allie’s band, where they are playing it, Jenna Swartz is playing the piano part. Lucky. So I went on MusicNotes (a very nice website) and printed the first page, free. It was so cool because you can transpose it online so I got it in C major and G major as well as the original, which I think is E major but I don’t remember. Anyway I am getting pretty good and got part of the verse by ear. It wasn’t hard.

And I think I have exhausted all topics.

No. I haven’t. I HAVE to tell you about Lunch B on Friday.

It was fun. Our school has 3 lunches, one for each grade (although you don’t always eat your grade’s default lunch) and 6th graders get Lunch C. So during Lunch B we’d come back from Mrs. Crews’s room and were back in Mrs. Komlos’s (not Mrs. Komlous’s, Kennedy who doesn’t know me) room. Amelia volunteered to put up some signs and persuaded Julia and me to help. It was SO fun. We went all around school. Mrs. Komlos told us to put one ‘by the tree in the front hall’ but when we got there there was no tree. She might have meant the painted one, though. So we asked Mr. Mecouch. I was feeling really hyper and outgoing so I went up to him, pointed to the painted tree, and in my giggly hyperness voice asked if it was a tree. He said yes. I pointed to some plants that Julia thought had meant the tree and asked if it was a tree. He said no but suggested we try hanging the sign above the water fountains next to the bathroom.  We did.        And then we were fighting and giggling over who would hold the tape and who would put up the signs. We took turns and debated the locations. And then IT happened.  We were putting up a sign. I had started this thing about being graceful. If you don’t know, I am really short, so it was sort of hard for me to reach the places. Actually we were all short. So I was trying to be graceful and hang the sign properly in one attempt when I heard a teacher coming. So I quickly told my friends to act calm and dignified. I put on my ‘calm and dignified’ face. It’s the first picture.

It’s a lot funnier when my hair’s dry and I’m in regular clothes and I’ve been hyper and giggly in the last ten seconds and I’m looking you in the face. It also looks different.  Anyway it cracked my friends up so every so often down the halls I would put on my calm and dignified face and dissolve into giggles within about two seconds.

When we got back to Mrs. Komlos’s room we volunteered (giggling) to deliver the boxes. Amelia gave hers to Mr. West. Then it was my turn. Mine went to Mr. Berg, a rather stern teacher who does joke a bit. They were having SSR I think and he was scolding Brett who was reading some really low point book. The conversation between Mr. Berg and me went something like this.

Mr. Berg: Yes?

Me: (giggling) Um, I have to give this to you.

Mr. Berg: (stares at me)

Me:  (still giggling) Um, it’s a box. From Mrs. Komlos. For you.

Me: (very embarrassed)

Mr. Berg: (takes box) Thank you for that fascinating explanation

Me: (giggling, embarrassed, and walking out) Um, okay.

Very embarrassing and yet very funny.

And then Julia delivered her box to the office while I tried my hardest to act calm and dignified. I was hyper and giggling helplessly by then, though. And we were halfway down the hall and the lunch bell rang so we half ran to Mrs. Komlos’s room, grabbed our stuff, and hurried to the cafeteria.

All in all, it was a very fun Lunch B. And I entertained my friends all through lunch by attempting to be calm and dignified while staring Julia in the face. She’s the only one who can make me giggle when I’m doing it. Thanks for a great Friday!

Okay now I am getting off.

Bye.
