OGDEN – Leonard Wayne Garrard, Sr., 80, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004 in Ogden.
He was born October 24, 1923 in Ogden, a son of William Lenard and Eva Margurite Larsen Garrard.
Wayne was reared and educated in Pleasant View and North Ogden, where he spent most of his life. He graduated from Weber High School and attended Weber College.
On July 17, 1942, Wayne married Donna Knight in Malad, Idaho. Their vows were solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 29, 1943.

Wayne was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in two Bishoprics, and as Elders Quorum president. For a time, he was Superintendent of Sunday School, and also served two Stake Missions.
He had worked as an auto mechanic, which led to the position of Supervisor of Vehicle Maintenance for the Weber County School District.
Wayne was a veteran of World War II, honorably serving his country as a Navy medical corpsman.
Wayne enjoyed growing cacti and water lilies, and raising fish.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of Ogden; two sons, L. Wayne Garrard, Jr. of Midvale; Timothy D. (Linda) Garrard of Stockton, CA; daughter-in-law Sheila Garrard of Roy; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Olga (Frank) Herson, Farr West; and Shirley Duncan, Layton.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19th at 11 a.m. at Lindquists North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd., with Bishop Kevin Garner officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m., and Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, North Ogden / Ben Lomond Cemetery.
